Who we are

The Fair Claims Co ABN 33 534 281 633 ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian document preparation service that helps consumers understand their options when an insurance claim has been denied. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.

What we collect

When you create an account and use our service, we collect:

• Your name and email address (to create and secure your account)
• Documents you upload (denial letters, policy documents, correspondence)
• Assessment results generated from your documents

How we use your information

Your documents and personal information are used solely to:

• Generate your case assessment, options report, and/or dispute letter
• Display your case history in your account dashboard
• Contact you about your case if needed

We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal information or documents to any third party, except as required by law. Your documents are processed by AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate assessments. Anthropic does not retain or train on data sent through their API.

How we protect your data

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Documents are stored in private, access-controlled storage locked to your account
• No one else, including other users or our staff, can access your documents through the platform
• Authentication is handled by Supabase with industry-standard security

Data retention

We retain your case data and documents for 24 months from the date your case was created. After this period, your data is automatically deleted. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Make a complaint about our handling of your information
